20th Century Fox is one of the world’s leading movie studios. They have produced thousands of movies and for on eof their most recent films; What’s Your Number, they wanted to leverage social media to get the word out.
20th Century Fox partnered with 8thBridge to launch their Ladies’ Night campaign to make it easier for women to plan a movie night out together. The movie studio leveraged Facebook and a Group Ticketing App from 8thBridge to launch the movie promotion with Gilt Groupe, SpaFinder.com and 7 For All Mankind. The campaign included a Facebook fan page where fans could purchase tickets and a Facebook event page where people could RSVP to the Ladies’ Night event. 100 copies of the book the movie is based on were given away to fans that purchased movie tickets on Facebook. The RSVPs included rewards for fans based on a tiered system outlined below:
-2,000 RSVPs: Gilt Groupe will give away 25 $25 Gift Certificates
-5,000 RSVPs: SpaFinder.com will giveaway 10% Off Gift Cards
-10,000 RSVPs: 7 For All Mankind will give away a 15% discount on a collection of clothes specifically chosen for this promotion
Also, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox partnered with 8thBridge to launch a campaign on Facebook for the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D.
